i have always wanted to start such a thread with my English teachers along with those who are interested in learning English

This thread is our chance to practice,share ideas , poems, messages and thoughts or anything else in ENGLISH LANGUAGE ONLY


so, i welcome my brothers as well as my sisters and call upon them to enrich this thread with their knowledge


We are here to learn, so please don't hesitate

Though i am not a n English teacher , but i find your thread is really amazing , helpful and innovative.
we are all in need to practice , grasp and improve our skills in English due to the great importance of this language as a global mean of connection between people around the world.

Hera are some quotes that i like and i want to share with you.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that".

"A woman knows the face of the man she loves as a sailor knows the open sea".

To be more honest with u and everyone

i feel teaching has taken my language from me

consider this topic a chance for us ( the english teachers ) to practice and share useful things plus a chance for others to learn english words they need in their lives

we all know English is a must nowadays right ?​

i totally agree but look at the good side of this thread

more than 10 posts in less than half n hour


such a topic in the english forum won't take the same attention as here

well, if other members of this great forum choose to move this thread ...fine with me


on the other hand,i know people here are eager to learn english because it's a universal language nowadays

idioms

a combination of words or phrases to form a new word with a different meaning

1-
in bad shape

In bad physical condition.


example


Bill is in bad shape. He needs to exercise regularly and go on a diet.


2-
safe and sound

safe and without injury or damage.

example


The kids returned from the excursion safe and sound.


3-
against time

(also against the clock) an attempt to finish something quickly within a time limit.

Example:

It's going to be a race against the time to finish the project before the deadline.​

A gorgeous young redhead goes into the doctor's office and
